PROJECT GOALS, ACHIEVEMENTS, AND BENEFITS

The new Mission Bay Development is governed by a complicated series of stormwater regulations, where different rules are in effect depending on the permit date on plans for individual parcels. The Developer has constructed stormwater infrastructure which it will transfer to the SFPUC after it demonstrates compliance with these regulations. McGovern McDonald Engineers assisted the SFPUC in understanding their rights and responsibilities in terms of compliance with their National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) requirements upon acceptance of the subject stormwater facilities. MME assembled and reviewed all the documents and applicable regulations pertaining to stormwater management in Mission Bay and provided the SFPUC with a review of the Developer’s first annual stormwater monitoring report. McGovern McDonald Engineers provided recommendations on improving the monitoring program for future monitoring years. MME assisted the SFPUC in implementing these requirements.
